By Jayne Arlidge

In the first part of this two-part episode of EngineeringPro, we speak to Digital Innovator and Advisor Jayne Arlidge about her 39-year career in the oil and gas industry.

Jayne started her career as a maintenance engineer on an FPSO before progressing through a global petrochemicals organisation to become Principle of Instrumentation, Alarm Management and Automation.  We discuss Jayne's early career and life on an FPSO.

We also dive into the world of safety management in one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.  We reflect on some of the challenges of the industry and the real effects of offshore living, including the impact of COVID on the offshore oil and gas industry.

Jayne has since come out of retirement and works as a consultant, mentor, and advisor to major petroleum companies and those working within them.
