Welding Inspector

Role: Welding Inspector
Location: Zeebrugge and Antwerp area
Duration: 6 months with potential of extension
Start date: ASAP

Role Requirements

• Be an HSSE ambassador. Ensures that HSSE procedures are adhered to, and proactively strive for good HSSE and quality performance throughout the work.
• Be a team player who contributes to good co-operation and maintains a good working environment
• Participates on all quality inspections at prefabrication yards and at the gas terminal
  Follows up and verifies closure of issues and any continues improvement initiatives in the yard and at the gas terminal.
• Review and comment subcontractor welding/NDT procedure & qualifications (i.e. welders lists, NDT operator lists, welding consumables management procedure, piping/structural steel certificates, material traceability procedure, Welding Summary List and Welding traceability Reports, etc)
• Ensuring quality of the work for compliance with specifications, approved ITP’s/ procedures and standards within assigned areas
• Verify that materials used are in accordance with project technical documents and applicable codes and specifications.
• Follow up that all welding activities are carried out according to the approved Welding procedure (WPS) and according to agreed ITP.
• Perform witness, inspection & surveillance checks and assess continually Welding/ NDT subcontractor’s performance Reviews all NDT performed by the contractor.
• Ensure that all inspection activities are recorded in the appropriate records.
• Record deficiencies and/or incomplete works on punch items and liaise with  supervisor/ superintendent to expedite necessary rectification

Required Qualifications

• Be in possession of international current certifications for the role in compliance with IIW; PCN or CSWIP.
• Be in possession of current qualification of II level NDT in compliance with ISO 9712
• Previous experience in application of EN1090 (structural steel).  Pressure Equipment Directive PED (for piping) and good knowledge to Belgian Gas Act is preferable.
