Our valued client is seeking a Terminal Operator in Port Moody, BC.  This is a 1-year contract, with a rotating shift 3 days on/3 days off, working 12 hours per day.  Only candidates local to the area or willing to relocate will be considered.

JOB SUMMARY:
  • Pursues operational excellence in completion of work/task execution, following the prescribed procedures in the appropriate operations manual, and suggestion improvements if needed within the functions of rail car product receipt.
  • Performs TRT/SAP maintenance assignments including closure documentation
  • Actively participates in Health and Safety Meetings.
  • Actively participates in Personnel Safety Management System (PSMS) to eliminate fatalities and life altering injuries (LAI) and deliver industry leading safety performance
  • Writes work permits as requested
  • Provides initial response to emergency incidents at the terminal, including upline notifications
  • Other tasks to benefit to terminal operations as aligned with supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Grade 12
  • 2 - 4 years experience in refining or distribution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, One Note)
  • Forklift
  • Boat operations

WORK PERFORMED:

Receipts – Rail:
  • Verifies railcar checklist
  • Prepares cars for unloading including but not limited to: car inspections ; placement of derailers, blue flags , wheel chocks; opens dome covers; connects steam and cargo hoses ; monitors unloading ; disconnects steam and cargo hoses.
  • Performs product sampling from railcars and product tankage for use in certification/verification of product specifications

General Operations:
  • Conducts pre-use inspections for all equipment and vehicles as required
  • Unloads miscellaneous material received and acknowledges receipt and forwards paperwork to main office.
  • Shares responsibility for facility access, security and housekeeping.
  • Responds to alarms as required.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Conducts day-to-day business in accordance with and in compliance to Company policies in the areas of operations integrity, human resources, product quality, business controls and environmental regulations.
  • Participates in terminal inspections and follow ups.
  • Reports, investigates and provides follow up for all incidents as directed or required.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of applicable Pipelines and Distribution Manual (PDM) .
  • Executes assigned tasks per TRT/SAP/IOCO OPS system or otherwise as delegated.
  • Gauges terminal tankage as required for inventory cut-off
  • Participates in stretching program as required for planned tasks
  • Maintains training in good standing
  • Performs work permitting operations as requested
  • Conduct site rounds and inspections as requested
  • Participates in implementation of MOC’s as requested
  • Proactively identifies maintenance issues and potential improvements

Receipts - Miscellaneous Material Receipts
 
  • Inspects forklift before use and completes pre-use checklist
  • Unloads miscellaneous material received and acknowledges receipt and forwards paperwork to main office.
