Telecom Senior Technician

Purpose of the Job:

1. Manage and oversee telecommunications systems and projects within designated operational areas.
2. Ensure the efficient implementation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure to support operational performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telecom systems, including voice, data, and video communication.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely deployment and integration of telecom solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to telecom infrastructure, minimizing downtime and operational disruptions.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of telecom equipment, identifying improvements and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and end-users on telecom matters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement telecom solutions aligned with organizational needs.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in telecommunications, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of telecom systems and maintenance activities.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance technical skills in telecom technologies.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom systems.
• Proficiency in telecom protocols and technologies such as VoIP, SIP, MPLS, and wireless communication.
• Relevant certifications in telecom systems and technologies are preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecom systems maintenance and support, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead technician role.
• Hands-on experience with telecom equipment such as routers, switches, PBX systems, and cabling infrastructure.
• Familiarity with telecom system design standards and best practices.
• Experience working in industrial or plant environments is an advantage.

• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work in challenging and dynamic environments.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
