TA Process Operator  
NES Fircroft is looking for a number of Turnaround Process Operators in Edmonton, AB to support a Turnaround to start in November 2024 and February 2025. If interested, please contact Erika Szydlik at erika.szydlik@nesfircroft.com 

This role will support permitting, and pre-work and Shutdown/ Startup operating related activities. Activities will/ may include pre-work & execution permit writing within the assigned unit. Unit assignments will be established by Ops TA team before completing orientation. This position will directly report to the TA Production Coordinator and will functionally report to the TA Production Specialist , who will run the day-to-day activities of the TA execution.
 
Responsibilities:
                                                                                                 
Turnaround Process Operator
  • If applicable there will be opportunity to support the TA operations staffing for a designated area for the activities of unit shutdown, isolation, equipment prep, decon, maintenance permitting, gas testing, commissioning, and startup.
  • Support TA pre and post work activities including but not limited to, lock out tag out (LOTO), job site visits and other permit to work activities
  • Support operational TA activities which includes equipment prep, field walk downs, permitting, shutdown and startup activities
  • Responsible to participate in operation meetings and support TA shift team as required
  • Turnaround Process Operator will ensure safe and efficient SD & SU of the process unit in their designated area, through the delivery following all Safe Work Practices
  • Support Turnaround activities which may include equipment prep, field walk downs, permitting, shutdown commissioning and startup.
  • Responsible to participate in start of sheet TA meetings and support TA shift Team
          Requirements:
  • Minimum Requirement of a 4th Class Steam Ticket
  • This will be a field Operator position with no permit writing activates required and assisting
  • Work schedule to be determined based on role and TA phase.
  • Current and typical schedules are as follows:
    • 6&1 @ 12hr shift for TA execution Phase - Day and Night schedule as required by TA workforce scheduling needs.
    • 4x10hr shifts for pre-work - day shift only Monday to Thursday. Start and stop times will be coordinated with the pre-work schedule. As the pre-work schedule progresses there may be additional days / hours to the schedule. The pre-work operator will be expected to match pre-work schedule as required by the TA team.
    • Onboarding and Training will be conducted on a 4 x 10hr schedule
    • Extra hours may be required based on workload and TA business need. All accumulated hours outside of the base schedule will be compensated at the contracted rate
    • The successful candidate must be physically fit and able to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolds, perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
    • The successful candidate will come to site for orientation and bring with them suitable clothing (Fire Retardant Clothing) and footwear (CSA approved work boot 6 inch ankle coverage)
    • Start dates will be staggered into 2 stages
      • Stage 1:
        • Start date Nov 11 for orientation 20 contractors
      • Stage 2:
        • Start date Feb17 for orientation 10-20 contractors
