Our client, a large Mining company, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager for their Winnemucca, NV office and project in Humboldt County in Northern Nevada. The succesful candidate must be local or willing to relocate.
Role
The Supply Chain Manager will be tasked with supporting our Mining clients efforts in building, commissioning, and operating their large projects in a safe and effective manner. The role serves as the leader who is responsible for all supply chain functions at the site, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while optimizing procurement, contracting, sourcing, warehousing, inventory control, and logistics. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through effective people leadership, streamlined processes, robust systems, and strategic projects. This role will help develop processes or review processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity of the warehouse, spare parts, consumables, and all other supply chain functions. The role will also look to continually improve these processes. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills with a track record of problem-solving and will be extremely familiar with developing a supply chain department at a greenfield site, warehousing, and spare parts using SAP S4/HANA.
The position will be based out of the Winnemucca, NV business office during construction and transition to site in Humboldt County, Northern Nevada during commissioning and throughout production and will report to the Site Operations Director. Travel to LAC offices, units, various engineering, and vendor offices and site will be required.

Responsibilities
- The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all supply chain (SC) functions at the site, including procurement, sourcing, logistics, warehousing, and inventory, and ensure alignment with corporate goals and consistent, efficient delivery through strong leadership and strategic execution
- Assist with leading the implementation and optimization of our client’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and Modules, which is SAP Hana for Supply Chain processes and procedures to support all supply chain activities
- Establish and manage Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and integrated demand planning to align supply/demand with operational needs
- Our client’s leadership focal point for working with transload terminal in Winnemucca, NV
- To optimize financial performance, budgeting, and deliver cost-effective, robust product supply chains with Finance
- To be accountable for setting total cost of supply and inventory to ensure clear accountability for the delivery of those targets (including monitoring and tracking performance through appropriate KPIs) and to actively contribute to product and working capital management
- Work closely with the business to help set up the supply chain for our contracts and any logistics with our customers and customers sites
- To champion and raise Health, Safety and Environment awareness within Product Supply Chain Teams with a strong focus on Safety in terms of Site Warehousing Infrastructure and personnel, vendor deliveries, and risk management
- Serve as the primary contact for site leadership and internal stakeholders, ensuring visibility of supply chain initiatives, policies, and performance
- Communicating SC led initiatives, policies & procedures and explaining their impact at site, in particular Supplier Risk Management
- Integration of buyers/ material planners working effectively with their site colleagues
- Oversee sourcing, contracting, and supplier portfolio management; lead SRM initiatives and implement change management practices to improve supplier performance and risk mitigation
- Responsible for driving sourcing & portfolio methodology change management at site level
- Rationalize the selection of suppliers to optimize supply base; ensure strong working relationships with these suppliers are developed and maintained and provide direction to monitor and continually improve suppliers' performance
- Contribute to the development and execution of the overall Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program, in respect of Site operations
- Mentor and manage supply chain team, driving performance, skill development, and a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement
- Oversee warehouse operations, bulk material handling, and logistics to ensure efficient, cost-effective supply chain performance
- Oversee end-to-end procurement, contracting, and sourcing activities, ensuring cost-effective and compliant purchasing
- Implement and manage contract lifecycle management (CLM) to enhance vendor performance and risk mitigation
- Support data-driven decision-making through analytics, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Lead and support key initiatives, including:
- Integrated Demand Planning with operations and maintenance teams to improve forecasting and inventory management
- Contract Lifecycle Management to drive cost savings, supplier performance, and risk mitigation
- Cost Optimization Programs to improve efficiencies, reduce waste, and enhance total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Drive standardization and process improvements across the site supply chain functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in basic business, industrial/science, or a technical degree in the field of Supply Chain Management, or relevant work experience in Supply Chain
- Minimum 8 years proven work experience serving as a manager or similar role in the supply chain industry
- Ability to travel up to 20% as required (vendor meetings, customer meetings, LAC Sites, training, network meetings, participation in auditing, etc.)
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles and systems (budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation)
- Expertise in procurement, contracting, warehouse operations, and logistics
- Hands-on experience with ERP and supply chain systems (SAP S/4HANA, or similar)
- Strategic, analytical thinker with a track record of process improvement and innovative problem-solving
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Data-driven decision-making and analytical mindset
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire your team
