Data Analyst Specialist – Mining Operations
Location: Brisbane or Adelaide (flexible / hybrid working)
Employment Type: Contract (12‑month contract with strong potential for extension)
Roster: Monday – Friday
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support data driven decision making across its mining operations. This role will sit close to operational, maintenance, and asset management teams, translating complex enterprise data into actionable insights that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost performance.
You will work with large, diverse datasets across maintenance, supply chain, finance, and production, leveraging modern analytics platforms to deliver high impact reporting, analysis, and insight.

About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support data driven decision making across its mining operations. This role will sit close to operational, maintenance, and asset management teams, translating complex enterprise data into actionable insights that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost performance.
You will work with large, diverse datasets across maintenance, supply chain, finance, and production, leveraging modern analytics platforms to deliver high impact reporting, analysis, and insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse large, complex datasets to deliver insights supporting asset performance, maintenance, and operational decision making
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, aligned to business KPIs
- Write and optimise SQL queries across enterprise data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks)
- Partner with maintenance, reliability, and operational stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
- Support data quality, governance, and standardisation initiatives across asset and master data domains
- Work closely with Data Engineering teams to ingest, model, and curate data from multiple source systems (e.g. SAP)
- Contribute to advanced analytics and AI enabled initiatives where applicable
About You
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst in mining, resources, energy, or asset intensive environments
- Strong hands on capability with SQL and enterprise data warehouses such as Snowflake or Databricks
- Experience working with SAP data (e.g. PM, MM, supply chain, asset data) highly desirable
- Strong data visualisation skills using Power BI (or similar BI tools)
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Exposure to AI / advanced analytics use cases (e.g. anomaly detection, predictive insights) will be highly regarded
