Position Title: Senior Project Manager Engineering Management
(Engineering Manager)
Location: Houston
Responsibilities:
Leads and supervises an integrated, multidisciplinary and multinational engineering team, understands the importance of industry best practices (e.g. BAT reference) and assures that those principles are understood and adhered to by all members of the project/program.
Accountable to ensure technical design integrity and engineering-consistency above all disciplines and involved contractors and provides guidance for standardization of equipment, procedures, and policies advantageous for the project/program.
Accountable to develop Project Assurance Plans for the respective project/program. Perform and execute progress- and quality reviews/audits during basic– and detailed engineering.
Perform active stakeholder management in all areas of engineering inside and outside the organization and coordinate all engineering interfaces between Joint Venture company and contractors (e.g. PMC, EPC, etc.).
Accountable to develop, implement and execute a clear and traceable management of change process for the project/program starting with DEFINE/FEL-3 and based on a “no-change” philosophy in EXECUTE.
Validate engineering change requests and give advisory opinion to the Project Director/Senior Project Manager for final negotiation.
Accountable that all engineering deliverables, according to the Joint Venture governance and assurance standards, are available at time and in the required quality to ensure a flawless review process in the course of the JV’s project governance process.
Accountable to ensure integrity of all data in the Basic and Detailed Engineering Documentation and compliance by the engineering and construction contractors with basic design concepts, project specifications and procedures.
Active contribution in the development of the contracting strategy in close cooperation with the Project Director, Senior Project Manager, and key project team members and ensures proper engineering expertise input in Invitation to Bids packages for engineering & construction services in all relevant project phases.
Provide input regarding interface management, quality and quality control plan, monthly project reports, final technical handover documentation and lessons learned as feedback from the project/phase previously completed.
Requirements:
Education: Process engineering, chemical or mechanical engineering, materials sciences or equivalent technical discipline with relevant professional experience in oil and gas or chemical industry
Alternative: with minimum 15 years work experience in project/engineering management in oil & gas or chemical industry a graduation from a university is not required
Relevant professional experience: >12 years

Relevant professional skills:
- Engineering Manager has experience in managing engineering teams for mega and high complex projects or program of projects and can demonstrate that those were successfully completed within schedule and budget constraints.
- Ability to work with international interdisciplinary teams and communicate with discipline engineers.
- Strong ability to manage digital tools typically used in engineering environment.
- High awareness of corresponding laws and regulations (esp. USA) and international technical standards.
- Sound knowledge of project management processes.
- A strong commitment to HSSE
