Our valued client, a key midstream company are seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Project manager to join their Calgary, AB team on a long term contract basis.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

As a Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager, you will oversee the design and construction of various facility projects, including gas plant expansions and fractionator expansions. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Project Coordination: Manage and coordinate third-party engineering firms, fabricators, material suppliers, and construction contractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Regulatory and Environmental Compliance: Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and submit regulatory, land, aboriginal, and environmental applications.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders and project teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective project delivery.
  • Technical Interface: Coordinate with Technical Services, Integrity, Quality, and Operations to meet technical, operational, commercial, maintenance, and quality requirements.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure that projects are designed and executed with safety as the top priority in collaboration with the Safety team.
  • External Consultation: Engage with external stakeholders as needed.
  • Documentation and Governance: Assist in creating and reviewing documentation for project management deliverables and support the Project Governance process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance specifications, standards, and practices within the Engineering and Construction team.
  • Construction Support: Oversee construction activities, review contractor plans, respond to RFIs, and manage design changes.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace environment.
 

Qualifications:

 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Designation: Professional Engineer with APEGA
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering/project management experience, including field experience with facility construction.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead diverse teams, organize, influence, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of technical standards related to process piping, systems, and various types of equipment. Experience with facility design and construction regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving, organizational, report writing, and verbal communication skills. Capable of working effectively in a team and handling changing environments.
  • Attributes: Results-oriented, self-directed, and capable of instilling confidence and building strong relationships. Open to new challenges and creative problem-solving
