Senior Process Engineer

NES Permanent Placement division is seeking for its client, a global leader in the engineering and construction of major projects for the energy and infrastructure sectors, both offshore and onshore, for a Senior Process Engineer in Abu Dhabi.
  Job purpose:

• Relevant to Upstream Process Technologies, elaborate, define, size and validate (within a process team) the various items, units and technical deliverables to be implemented in the Project.
• Work under the supervision of the Project Process Lead

Responsibilities:

• Develop Heat and Material Balances using simulation software
• Develop Process Flow diagrams to show unit operations necessary to convert feedstocks into on-specification products, in the most economical manner
• Define and size Equipment and Instrumentation to be implemented and issue relevant Process Data sheets and Package Duty Specification
• Elaborate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P and IDs)
• Elaborate Cause and Effect Matrix
• Develop Control Narratives and Logic Sequences for the assigned systems
• Perform hydraulic and thermal calculations on piping systems, in steady state and transient operation
• Define the utilities requirements and design the associated systems
• Define the chemicals and catalysts requirements for the assigned systems and prepare the relevant summary
• Define quantities and characteristics of effluents to be disposed to the environment
• Support the preparation of Operating Manual and Test Run procedures
• Implement contractual design philosophy
• Check technical quality of calculations, sw simulations and deliverables produced as per Company Quality System
• Take part of the multidisciplinary project reviews such as Plot Plan, P and IDs, HAZOP, 3D Mode

Candidate profile:

• At least 6 years of experience in a similar role.
• Expertise in the preparation, and optimization, of Block diagrams, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Knowledge and experience of the Process Engineering tools (Heat and Material Balance, Equipment sizing, P and IDs, Valves and line sizing, metallurgy, safety)
• Expertise and experience in the design of different unit operation and equipment: i.e. design criteria, Standards and methodology for equipment, valves, packages, piping, etc. including relevant safety requirements and standards.
• Experience with Qatar Energy / Saudi Aramco projects and standards
