INPEX Australia is seeking a Shutdown HSE Advisor for an initial 12-month contract.

Special Conditions: Travel to onshore and offshore facilities for shutdown and Implementation scopes, as required.

Objectives:
  • Provide HSE support for the planning, execution and closeout of the HSE aspects for SD. The responsibilities will be to assess the work scope, conditions, required documentation, programs and culture to achieve the HSE goals established by the HSE and SD Managers.
  • The position is required to liaise with functions of HSE, SD Group, Operations, Engineering and Contractors to effectively achieve the goals for a SD
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment.
  • Support the injury / claims management and rehabilitation process, where required.
  • Provie HSE advice and coordinate the support from subject matter experts (e.g. Security and Emergency Management, Environment and Health, Hygiene and Wellbeing, Process Safety) as required.
  • Provide guidance on HSE legislation, industry standards or other technical guidance.
  • Ensure shutdown HSE arrangements comply with INPEX Business Management System (BMS) HSE requirements.
  • Ensure regulatory, safety case & Environment Plan obligations associated with shutdown & implementation activities are met.
  • Reporting of progress, threats and barriers against shutdown and implementation HSE arrangements.
  • Ensure INPEX HSE process and strategies are implemented within contractor and sub-contractor companies.
  • Assist with the development, review and facilitation of the SD HSE Plans and programs detailed in the SD HSE Milestone Schedule and Plan.
  • Participate in HAZOP / HAZID / SIMOP & Risk Assessment workshops as required.
  • Assist with workpack HSE reviews.
  • Deliver Shutdown induction and any other related HSE training to employees and contractors.
  • Attend Shutdown meetings, SD HSE Team meetings, toolbox talk and pre-start safety talks as required.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of SD HSE Daily PreStart, SD HSE alerts and communications.
  • Coordinate and undertake assurance activities (e.g. inspections, audits) to verify compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Support Shutdown Incident Investigations, including root cause analysis, quality reviews and preparation of reports.
  • Coordinate HSE in Contracts from tendering through to onboarding and contract close out for Shutdown and Implementation contracts.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders (contractor/subcontractor management, HSE personnel, workers) to ensure HSE arrangements are developed and implemented.
  • Lead campaigns and initiatives to improve Contractor HSE performance.
  • Ensure assurance arrangements are in place to verify compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization whilst maintaining the HSE objectives of the team.
  • Provide site direction and support for H&S related programs and activities, including campaigns, reviews, audits, inspections and general engagement during shutdown & implementation scopes.
  • Ensure effective HSE risk identification, mitigation, management and monitoring of controls.
  •  Ensure the HSE Management System is effective and support its implementation during shutdown and implementation scopes.
  • Participate in forums to keep up with and contribute to sharing of best practices in the industry, and foster relationships with peers
  • Interface between onshore / offshore / support resources & leadership team.
  • Demonstrate and encourage behaviors that build positive teamwork and synergies.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven track record in HSE advisory roles
  • Substantial HSE experience in Oil and Gas Industry. Shutdown experience desirable.
  • Lead auditor qualifications and experience leading audits.
  • Incident investigation – Lead investigator with TapRoot experience and Human Factors (desirable)
  • Good general understanding of Australian’s safety and environmental regulatory regimes, ALARP principles, due diligence and duty of care principles.
