Role Profile
The Senior Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisor will support a major offshore wind initiative by developing environmental and social (E&S) standards and policies, coordinating actions to meet lender requirements, and serving as the primary liaison with the Independent Environmental and Social Consultant (IESC).
This role includes managing ESG reporting, integrating E&S requirements into project workflows, and reviewing technical documentation. The advisor will work closely with joint venture partners and internal corporate functions to ensure alignment across HSEQ, ESG, consents, supply chain, HR, and engineering.

Role Profile
The Senior Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisor will support a major offshore wind initiative by developing environmental and social (E&S) standards and policies, coordinating actions to meet lender requirements, and serving as the primary liaison with the Independent Environmental and Social Consultant (IESC).
This role includes managing ESG reporting, integrating E&S requirements into project workflows, and reviewing technical documentation. The advisor will work closely with joint venture partners and internal corporate functions to ensure alignment across HSEQ, ESG, consents, supply chain, HR, and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project-specific E&S standards
- Conduct gap analyses to identify risks and develop mitigation plans
- Coordinate implementation of ESG standards and lender requirements
- Support the deployment of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS)
- Assist with corporate audits of the ESMS
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure ESG compliance
- Manage assessments in line with lender expectations
- Serve as the main point of contact for the IESC and facilitate team inputs
- Liaise with legal and lender advisors regarding ESG requirements
- Contribute to project risk management and mitigation strategies
- Oversee ESG and greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting to meet corporate standards
- Promote high-quality standards in line with HSEQ systems
- Work collaboratively across departments including HSEQ, Consents, Engineering, Stakeholder Engagement, Finance, and Supply Chain
- Support continuous improvement of the business management system (BMS)
- Strong team integration and self-motivation, especially for remote work
- Extensive experience with lender E&S requirements, particularly in UK offshore wind, infrastructure, or energy projects
- Familiarity with relevant UK legislation, international law, and key standards such as:
- Equator Principles IV
- IFC Performance Standards
- World Bank Group EHS Guidelines
- ESG reporting and GHG data collection
- Good international industry practices
- Understanding of the Scottish consenting process
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to manage and disseminate information effectively
- Chartered membership or equivalent in a relevant professional body
- Prior experience in offshore wind or renewable energy project development and construction
- Willingness to travel internationally for short-term assignments
