TITLE: Senior Engineer in Installation Analysis – Pipeline Group
REPORT TO: S&J or Reel Lay - Analytics Team Leader - Pipeline Group
LOCATION: Suresnes, FRANCE
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The Senior Installation Analysis Engineer at Pipeline Group is in charge of the installation analysis process, from the project engineering phase to the monitoring of offshore operations.
He/she is responsible for delivering installation analyses on projects or calls for tenders with particular attention paid to the adequacy of the solution implemented, minimizing the risks to personnel and equipment while ensuring that costs are respected.
He/She may be in charge of supervising a team of project engineers on a daily basis in project installation analyses, FEED or call for tenders.
He/she reports to the team leader on analyses. On project or tenders, he/she may be supervised by a Senior Engineer in installation analysis and/or a project engineering manager to whom he/she regularly reports on the progress of the analyses, critical technical topics and personnel needs.
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Independently carries out feasibility studies and installation analyses for
various cases of installation of rigid pipes at sea (pipeline, riser, structures, etc.) in
S-Lay or Reel Lay, taking into account the risks associated with this type of operation,
• Ensures that safety rules are well considered in the analyses at all
installation steps, and that they are consistent with the
profession,
• Ensures the quality of the analyses delivered in accordance with the Client's specification
and respect for the schedule,
• May supervise a team of project engineers in plant analysis,
that he/she will have to provide technical guidance on technical subjects and by ensuring that
the adequacy of the proposed solutions,
• Interface with associated disciplines and understand the interfaces within a
project team,
• Participates in the decision of the installation method (S-Lay, J-Lay, Reel-Lay...),
• Supports operations during installation, both in the office
occasionally at sea,
• Complies with safety objectives and on-site regulations,
• Promotes safety culture within his/her team from the project phase to the
operational at sea,
• Actively participates in the life of the department, in the training of engineers and in the
knowledge development,
• Proposes innovative solutions to reduce risks and costs.
COMPETENCIES:
• Knowledge of finite element theory – Mandatory
• Good knowledge of beam theory and materials physics -
Obligatory
• Knowledge of Python and VBA programming – Recommended
• Knowledge of Orcaflex software – Mandatory
• Knowledge of Abaqus software – Added value
• Offshore pipe laying experience
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
