POSITION: Senior Consultant Drilling & Wells (D&W) Material Management
BUSINESS UNIT: Procurement and Supplier Relations (PSR)
PROFESSION/SKILLS: Materials Management
LOCATION: Aberdeen, UK
This position is for our oil and gas operator client.
The Position
Procurement and Supplier Relations (PSR) is responsible for the Supply Chain Management (SCM) process ensuring safe and efficient supply of products and services to all our operations and development projects.
Tasks/Responsibilities of Senior Consultant Drilling & Wells (D&W) Materials Management
• Plan and coordinate the readiness and availability of materials & equipment throughout the supply chain (understanding work requirements, ensuring on time delivery, planning vessel & deck space availability) for D&W to ensure cost effective, secure and efficient drilling operation.
• Be the link between drilling and well operations, suppliers and internal services such as base logistics and helicopter operations.
• Manage, review and support implementation of the materials management strategy for UK including optimisation of inventory, support operational business needs (drilling and wells, maintenance and modifications) and deliver appropriate training and functional guidance to business areas
• Review equipment management methodology and manage 3rd party storage sites; promote best in class stock control and reconcile discrepancies found during inventory counts, month on month 3rd party vendor stock reports, etc.
• Oversee review of inventory levels and liaise with legal, tax and finance and control to ensure compliance with Company disposal and re-sale policy.
• Participation in on-call duty rota and occasional visits to offshore installations/rigs may be required.

• Experience and competence in materials and inventory management with thorough working knowledge of relevant regulatory legislation gained from an operating and/or service-based industry
• Competent with SAP system
• Experience with D&W and vessel planning using logistics management software, such as Kabal, would be advantageous
• Sound understanding of financial implications of material management
• Strong communication skills
