Rotating Equipment Quality Assurance Inspector

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Rotating Equipment Quality Assurance Inspector to join their team come January of 2025! This individual will be serve as a major asset in the quality and control of various rotating equipment pertaining to maintenance/machinery within the site. This is a full-time contract with a global energy and petrochemical company in Monaca, PA. 
  • The candidate shall have a working knowledge of ANSI/API pumps, Mechanical seals & Seal Flush Plans, & Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, blowers, lube oil systems, miscellaneous mixers / agitators, gearbox, steam turbine applications experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in greenfield, brownfield, and fabrication quality assurance roles within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Experience advising on alignment adjustments necessary to meet stipulated tolerances.
  • Experience monitoring vibration during commissioning and start-up of new equipment.
  • Preferred experience integrating rotating equipment into modules and managing rough and final alignment.
  • Possess a good understanding of standard NDE techniques and applications utilized for new or repaired rotating equipment (VT, PT, MT, RT, and UT).
  • The candidate shall have a working knowledge of the Industry Machinery Repair Standards.
  • Familiarity and experience working as an Owner’s representative and interfacing with 3rd party Supplier Quality Surveillance teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and fabrication / assembly shop best practices for managing and ensuring quality (proper material separation, welding consumable management, etc.).
  • Experience with Advanced Work Packaging construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes through instruction or practical experience.
  • Understanding of commissioning and start-up requirements and systemization approach to project completions including inspection of packages (installation and test) and systems.
  • Preferred prior experience with Wood GoCompletions platform.
  • Comfortable and capable as a HSSE leader in the field with commitment to goal zero delivery.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Willing to step out in a leadership fashion to take on tough issues or deliver difficult news.
  • Works proactively to assess quality and progress in the field prior to inspection points.
  • Bring a high degree of passion, commitment, and integrity to the job.
  • Knowledgeable in fabrication techniques and practices.
  • Good computer and documentation skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and make decisions.
  • Work well as a member of a team.
  • Enjoy learning new technical subjects and sharing knowledge.
Ability to travel to fabricator or module assembly shops as required.
