The Rotating Equipment (Cryogenic) Engineer will be responsible for developing a fit-for purpose and competitive rotating equipment strategy.
The Rotating Equipment Engineer is in charge of:

The Rotating Equipment (Cryogenic) Engineer will be responsible for developing a fit-for purpose and competitive rotating equipment strategy.
- (S)He will be executing Rotating Equipment Engineering on projects, in compliance with all applicable safety and technical standards,
- (S)He will support the teams to integrate the rotating equipment strategy in the country’s project.
- (S)He will be responsible for the cost effective implementation together with procurement.
- (S)He will be the design authority for rotating equipment for projects
- (S)He will be contributing to the evaluation and promotion of new rotating equipment and technologies, and to the improvement of relevant technical standards.
The Rotating Equipment Engineer is in charge of:
- H&S:
- Contributes actively to improve Health and safety Standards for Engineering in projects for the group.
- Ensures Health & Safety values, safety and security policies and standards are maintained and integrated into all project engineering activities, including safety in design, safety in construction, etc.
- Contributes to change culture in project health and safety.
- Proposing, in relevant technical field, safe, innovative and optimized solutions allowing to reduce CAPEX costs and to improve operating performances (uptime, quality and power consumption),
- Identifying and managing technical interfaces with existing facilities,
- Executing rotating equipment and auxiliaries engineering (basic design, preparation of technical specifications for tendering, review and evaluation of technical offers, clarification with bidders, review of detailed design, …) on projects,
- Incorporating all applicable safety and technical standards on technical scope of the projects,
- Participating and contributing to the design reviews (safety in design, operability and maintainability),
- Contributing to technical qualification of equipment suppliers and erection contractors,
- Providing support and expertise to the project teams for equipment inspection and FAT, for trouble shooting during construction and commissioning,
- Providing “post mortem” inputs on relevant technical field on each project and sharing them,
- Conducting a technological watch with suppliers and proposing new technologies,
- Proposing continuous improvement of relevant technical standards and tools,
- Capitalizing new experiences into projects,
- Exchanging and sharing regularly with CIP experts on instrumentation, control, and automation matters.
- The Rotating Equipment Engineer shall exercise his/her expertise mainly in large size CCUS projects (> 100 Million CHF)
- The Rotating Equipment Engineer has to handle his/her activities on several Projects in parallel and depending on priorities also work on cement plant projects,
- He/she shall be able to operate in a multicultural and multi expertise team in several locations.

- CCUS portfolio CAPEX: CHF 2 Bln up to 2030
- 5 MTPA CO2 abated

- N+1: Head of Engineering
- N+2: Head of PME/Head of CCUS-CAPEX
- Project Mechanical engineers in country project teams
- Design and EPC Contractors on CCUS projects
Level of education/qualifications normally required:
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical engineering
Specific work experience:
- ideally up to 15 years of experience in project environment in process industry with rotating equipment in cryogenic applications (LNG, Liquid O2, Liquid Nitrogen, demethanizer, de-ethanizers)
Technical / functional skills:
- Knowledge in process plant design and equipment, engineering, commissioning or maintenance,
- Experience with Large Cryogenic Equipment
- Knowledge of technical standards in various systems,
- Trouble shooting.

- Frequent travels in project/supplier premises and construction sites. Open to travel to areas that could have adverse living conditions, limited infrastructure and accessibility.
