Location: Calgary, AB
Length: 2 Years (with potential extension)
Rotation: Monday - Friday
 
Role Summary
Our client's project is an integrated LNG development (estimated value > USD 20 billion) comprising two major scopes: Plant and Pipeline.
 
The Risk & Change Integration Lead is responsible for planning, integrating, and leading end‑to‑end risk management across the Phase 2 Project. This role safeguards the project’s safety, reputation, schedule, and financial outcomes by identifying, assessing, and managing technical and non‑technical risks.
 
The position requires strong analytical capability, strategic decision‑making under pressure, effective stakeholder influence across diverse teams, and delivery of high‑quality risk reporting in a timely manner. The role serves as the central point of integration for risk management across Plant, Pipeline, and non‑technical workstreams.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Risk Management Leadership
  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to HSSE and visible safety leadership.
  • Own, implement, and continuously improve the Phase 2 Risk Management Plan.
  • Lead integrated risk management planning for the Phase 2 Project across Plant, Pipeline, and Integration teams.
  • Lead and facilitate the Integrated Project Risk Assessment process.
  • Establish and maintain integrated risk management frameworks, tools, and work processes, encompassing technical and non‑technical risks.
  • Advocate for consistent application of risk management methodologies throughout the project.
 
Risk Identification, Mitigation & Reporting
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks that could impact project scope, schedule, cost, safety, or reputation.
  • Develop and recommend risk mitigation and response strategies to support safe, on‑time, and within‑budget delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver integrated project risk reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide timely responses, insights, and clarifications to stakeholders on risk‑related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Perform risk assessments at multiple phases of the project lifecycle and update risk registers accordingly.
  • Monitor, review, and continuously improve risk management performance and effectiveness.
 
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership
  • Interface with Project Managers, technical leads, nontechnical leads, and functional leads as risk and action owners.
  • Coordinate with project teams to communicate emerging and material risks.
  • Display a strong, positive attitude toward change, continuous improvement, and improved ways of working.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and promote a One Team mindset.
  • Courageously challenge assumptions and hold firm to professional views when required.
 
Assurance & Capability Building
  • Support risk management deliverables for the ESAR4 (Estimate and Schedule Assurance Review 4) assurance event, targeted for March 2026, as part of the FID process.
  • Conduct risk management training sessions and workshops for the Phase 2 team, as required.
  • Implement lessons learned from Phase 1 and external best practices.
  • Champion innovation, digital tools, and data‑driven risk management practices.

Qualifications & Experience:
 
Essential Experience
  • 15+ years in the Oil & Gas industry within Project Services / Planning / Scheduling.
  • 3+ years of experience on LNG projects (FEED, LNTP, detailed engineering, and execution phases).
  • Proven experience as a Project Risk Manager, Risk Analyst, or similar role on mega‑projects in execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Hands‑on experience with risk management software (ProRisk).
  • Strong understanding of industry compliance standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies, time zones, and multicultural teams.
  • Strong listening, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
 
Technical Capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in ProRisk software and quantitative/qualitative risk analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with modular fabrication projects, including design–fabrication–construction interfaces.
  • Pipeline project experience is a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to support safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.
 
Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
  • Confident communicator able to engage technical and non‑technical audiences at all levels.
  • Proven ability to align and motivate cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong resilience and prioritization skills in fast‑paced project environments.
