Research and Development Specialist

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) SPECIALIST (SHORT-TERM PROJECT)

Purpose of the Job:

1. Deliver targeted research and development outcomes within a short timeframe of 21 working days, occurring every five years.
2. Provide expert insights and innovative solutions for specific projects or challenges as defined by the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Targeted Research: Conduct intensive research to address specific project goals or challenges identified by the organization, incorporating up-to-date industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements.
• Project Execution: Develop and execute a detailed project plan to achieve defined objectives within the 21 working days, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals and timelines.
• Experimentation and Analysis: Design and conduct experiments or simulations to test hypotheses, validate concepts, and generate data. Analyze results to provide actionable conclusions and evidence-based recommendations.
• Rapid Prototyping: Collaborate with internal teams to swiftly develop and test prototypes or models that meet quality standards and project requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Document all research activities, methodologies, results, and conclusions comprehensively. Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders, summarizing findings and providing actionable insights.
• Knowledge Transfer: Offer training, guidance, and recommendations to internal teams to ensure successful implementation of research outcomes, while enhancing the organization’s R&D capabilities.
• Innovation and Improvement: Identify and propose innovative solutions or improvements to existing products, processes, or technologies, contributing to the optimization of the organization’s R&D strategies and methodologies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and, where applicable, external partners to leverage additional expertise and resources. Participate in meetings and discussions to ensure alignment with project goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Material Science). A Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in data analysis and statistical software, excellent communication and presentation abilities, and robust project management skills. Ability to work independently and deliver results within a tight timeframe.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of research methodologies, product development processes, and industry-specific regulations. Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the relevant field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a research and development role with a proven track record of successfully delivering R&D projects. Experience in the relevant industry or sector is an advantage.

Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver high-impact projects within short timeframes.
• Hands-on experience in designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
• Proven experience in preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Experience in rapid prototyping and innovation processes.
