NES Fircroft is actively seeking experienced Automation Engineers in the North Jersey area for our Client's R&D Center in Annandale, NJ!  This position will be a full-time contract opportunity with the site which has mutli-year extension ability through 2027.  This position will be focused on computing and Automation consultation work in the area of Process and Unit Automation, our client is looking for candidates with experience using LabVIEW software.

Job Role Summary
:
Our Client's Technology and Engineering Pilot Plant and Laboratory Engineering (PPLE) Computing Group has an opening for a Research & Lab Scale Automation Engineer at its Annandale, New Jersey facility. The PPLE Computing Group provides focused computing support for research and development laboratories and pilot plants. This position provides day-to-day computing consultation to client staff in the area of process and unit automation while participating in the formulation and adoption of strategic plans.

Job Role Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will effectively multi-task responsibilities in a diversified environment, including:
  • Automating new research laboratory bench scale and pilot plant units.
  • Defining requirements for design, development and implementation of novel research laboratory data acquisition and data analysis systems and applications.
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing existing research laboratory data acquisition and data analysis systems and applications.
  • Collaborating with researchers, research support services personnel and IT providers to deliver complete research automation solutions.
  • Engaging in the identification, development and implementation of research laboratory work process improvements.

Job Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical), or equivalent work experience, is required.

In addition, candidates should have the following knowledge / skills / abilities:
  • 3-5 years of LabVIEW experience working with Actor Framework is required.
  • Strong functional analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with process control systems, application development environments and tools and relational databases.
  • Ability to assess, select and apply current and emerging information technology to process automation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams and motivation to provide responsive customer service.
  • Ability to organize information and to manage tasks and projects to support business needs. 
  • Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a work environment with changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of in process / industrial controls and instrumentation.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of technical concepts that may be outside of one’s primary area of expertise.
