We’re partnering with a leading mining project team in search of a seasoned commercial or supply chain specialist to take the lead on a high-priority procurement package. This role plays an important part in managing the procurement and contracting of a time-sensitive package, involving detailed negotiations and coordination under tight timelines. 

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end commercial process—from reviewing bids to negotiating and finalising contract terms for a major equipment package.
  • Resolve complex contractual and commercial deviations with vendors, balancing internal priorities and external positions.
  • Ensure all commercial risks are identified, assessed, and managed—including regulatory impacts like import duties, freight terms, and country-of-origin factors.
  • Coordinate across legal, risk, engineering and senior leadership to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Document negotiations thoroughly, maintain transparent records, and prepare executive-level bid evaluation summaries.
  • Provide commercial guidance to technical teams during material requisition development and vendor engagement.
  • Tackle additional commercial tasks as needed to support the broader team.
What You’ll Bring:
  • A solid background (10+ years) in commercial, supply chain, or procurement roles within heavy industry—ideally mining or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating high-value packages with OEMs, particularly under time pressure.
  • Familiarity with international procurement considerations including trade compliance, duties, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to confidently interface with legal, finance, and executive teams.
  • Relevant qualifications in Law, Business, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
