Position Description
Are you looking for a new challenge? We are seeking a Project Manager within Onshore Wind to join our client’s journey toward a brighter future. Within Renewable Energy Projects, they provide project management and engineering services in support of renewable power generation for both internal teams and external clients.
Working alongside the Asset Development team, they develop projects as business cases evolve and progress projects based on risks and opportunities. Wind energy is a critical component of the strategy to increase renewable generation capacity to 5 GW by 2030. Projects are anticipated to arise from development opportunities and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading project teams in delivering wind farm projects from early development phases through to construction and compliance testing.
  • Supporting the Asset Development Team in securing viable routes to market for projects, such as PPA and CFD Auction processes.
  • Maintaining an accurate resource requirement plan to meet commitments and collaborating with other teams to align with the Strategic Resource Plan.
  • Supporting the development and continuous improvement of expertise and skills within the UK onshore team.
  • Taking responsibility for project health and safety, including leading the implementation of CDM, PSDP, or Principal Designer processes across projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential
  • At least three years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in delivering projects, managing engineering, and other disciplines.
  • In-depth understanding of the commercial and technical aspects of project design and construction.
  • Familiarity with health and safety procedures, applicable legislation, regulations, directives, professional codes of practice, and CDM.
Desirable
  • Experience working independently, taking ownership of projects, and motivating team members to achieve objectives.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of contracts (e.g., TSAs, BOPs, EPCs) and their application, particularly FIDIC.
  • Understanding of onshore wind projects, including associated risks during development, construction, and operation phases. 
Qualifications

Essential
  • A recognized degree-level/third-level qualification in engineering.
Desirable
  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status with a recognized engineering institution, or progress toward the same.
  • Project management qualification/certification. 
Location
This role can be carried out in either Glasgow, Scotland, or Manchester, UK. Nationwide and international travel will also be a feature of this role.
