Production Operator – 12 month Contract- Drilling Fluids

Location: Darwin, Australia
Contract Duration: 12 months initial
Salary: $50/hr
Working hours/days : 8 hours/day, 5 days/week

NES Fircroft have partnered with a global oil and gas business who are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Operator to join the team in Darwin for an initial 12-month contract. This role focuses on the preparation, transfer, and quality control of drilling fluids, brines, and other products. It requires strong adherence to safety and quality standards, as well as efficient product handling and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

Production Operations:
  • Transfer packaged, liquid, and bulk products.
  • Prepare drilling fluids and brines as per management formulations, including filtration and centrifuging.
  • Ensure raw materials and packaging are prepared before product transfer.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests on drilling fluids (e.g., Density, Viscosity, pH).
  • Load and unload transport carriers and manage daily forklift operations.
Quality Control:
  • Collect product samples for quality control and ensure QC approval before repacking or transferring products.
  • Review quality documentation and report any non-conformances.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
  • Follow company HSE standards, attend daily safety meetings, and participate in observation and safety programs.
  • Adhere to the five fundamentals of HSE and ensure appropriate PPE is used at all times.
Administration:
  • Assist with stock takes and report stock shortages.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding inventory levels and operational needs.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience with forklifts and in Quality, Logistics, Warehouse, or Inventory Management roles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a physical environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer skills.
