Production Engineer – CSG Optimisation - 12 month contract

NES Fircroft has partnered with a Tier 1 Oil & Gas exploration, development and producer, who are currently seeking a Production Engineer to join their team based in Brisbane CBD. The role will be offered on an initial 12-month contract, with a view to extend, working Monday to Friday.
As a Production Engineer, you will be an integral part of one largest and most complex asset portfolios in Australia .You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of production across a diverse region encompassing over 300 wells, gathering systems, and compression facilities. This position will be paid on a day rate of $1000/day inc super. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze daily production from wells, gathering systems, and compressors. Provide timely support to field operations, acting as a key interface between the office and field operations teams.
  • Optimize and track FBHP (Flowing Bottom Hole Pressure) and gathering flow. Update and monitor well production trends, recommending and discussing daily remedial actions with the optimization lead, production technology, engineering, and field teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships to collaborate effectively. Provide technical support during technology trials and ensure rigorous adherence to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) risk assessments and operational processes.
  • Lead by example with a strong commitment to our clients values, code of conduct, safety, and environmental standards. Intervene when standards are compromised and model D&I (Diversity and Inclusion) behaviors, fostering an inclusive and respectful working environment.
Skills & Requirements:
  • Engineering degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Relevant experience in technical positions such as Production Operations, Well Engineering, Process Engineering, Production Technology, or Reservoir Engineering is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • High commitment to safety and environmental standards.
  • Strong communication skills with a willingness to quickly learn and adapt.
  • Experience in delivering results within a collaborative team environment and demonstrated ability to coach and influence others.
  • Experience in the Coal Seam Gas (CSG) industry is a plus.
