NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with an International Energy client who are looking to add an Engineering Manager to work on their manufacturing improvement project based from Mumbai, India.
Our client the plant Operator are looking for a Process Safety Engineer to represent their team based in the Design contractor’s office during the Detailed Design phase of their project.
The role will be contract based for an initial 12 months duration and will require someone to be based in Mumbai for 2 weeks followed by 2 weeks remote working.
This role will suit an expatriate candidate who has excellent experience working for end user client overseeing delivery of Detailed Design works by external sub-contractors. Pending successful delivery of Detailed Design phase, the role has strong potential to follow on for a further 6 months during Construction phase on site in Gujarat, India.
A strong day rate will be on offer for suitable candidates.
Responsibilities Overview:
· Review PTP global and technical requirements and ensure these are incorporated into philosophies, procedures, specifications and design drawings.
· Review safety related deliverables including:
o Fire Water Network Design including fire water demand, P&IDs, layouts, data sheets, etc.
o Fireproofing schedule and diagrams
o Fire & gas detection layouts and cause & effect charts
o Hazardous area classification and schedule
o Result from safety Studies such HAZID/ENVID,HAZOP, SIL, QRA, Consequence modelling etc,
· Organize HAZOP/LOPA studies and ensure these are done in accordance with PTP requirements
· Responsible for follow up and close out HAZOP actions
· Ensure that the SIL requirements are being properly implemented into the design and equipment
· Participate in different reviews such a plot plan and 3Dmodel review
· Coordinate Safety Related issues with other disciplines
· Ensure TQs and RFI are responded in a timely manner and ensuring the contractor have sufficient information to progress his work.
· Apply knowledge/skills to a range of activities, act as a technical resource to others in own area and to colleagues with less experience
· Understand requirements and identify solutions to nonstandard requests.
Competencies:
· Relevant Engineering Degree
· Min 10 years Project Experience
· Knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to refinery and petrochemical industries
· Ability to apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and non-standard situations.
· Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
· Proven ability to lead reviews/discussions along with the Contractor as required.
