NES Fircroft is partnered with a world leader in mining who is seeking an experienced Principal Mining Systems Engineer for an initial 6-month contract position based on site in South Australia.
We are currently looking for an experienced individual with experience in Industrial Communications, Networking, Wi-Fi and RF, to come and join our team as Principal Industrial Communications Engineer, this position will be key in managing mobile equipment and fixed infrastructure for the Operational Technology team in South Australia.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mining Systems & Industrial Communications, this role will act as the technical expert and governance over mining systems equipment to enable the successful execution of asset strategies across Copper South Australia and continuously improve it to deliver optimum performance across the region.
 
About the role
This position is based on site in South Australia and is offered as a 5/2, 4/3 FIFO roster with potential for select flexible working arrangements to be considered.
Main job responsibilities will include but not limited to: 
  • Ensuring a strong commitment to Health & Safety
  • Manage prospective changes to asset strategies and monitor their integrity and effectiveness.
  • Optimising asset strategies in collaboration with Maintenance teams, Engineering and other Functions to keep them current, relevant and accurate.
  • Leading and delivering improvement initiatives that optimise our asset strategies to support the business plan.
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
  • Networking Qualifications (eg. CCNP, CWNP etc)
  • Strong working experience with Networking equipment in the Mining Industry. Switching Routing, Access Points (Wi-Fi), Access Point Management
  • In depth understanding of RF (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience for facilitating RCA (Root Cause Analysis) workshops, this includes knowledge of the RCA tools and also demonstrating experience in utilizing these tools and processes.
  • Understanding risk assessment and ability to apply change management
  • Ability to collaborate, influence and work with site based operational teams
