The Company:
A global Power Technology business which provides Systems, Equipment, Project Management & Construction Services to various areas of the Power sector. The organisation is highly esteemed, renown for driving innovation within the field of Power Transmission & Distribution, and Renewables, working on large-scale Capex projects alongside TSO’s/DNO’s and other Energy market participants to provide reliable and complete power solutions to global energy markets.

The organisation is seeking a Technical Power Systems Consultant to join their expanding team to be responsible for developing and advising on client projects in the areas of T&D and Renewables, supporting all components of work from technical specifications, feasibility studies & analysis, regulatory & commercial elements. You will possess an advanced working knowledge of a number of Power Systems software packages, having applied these within your analysis & simulation work on Power & Electronic Systems for large grid development projects.

Accountabilities: 
  • Management of Power projects & processes, conducting complex problem solving both with supervision and independently.
  • Build an internal & external network, identifying opportunities for new and repeat business.
  • Use various sales & negotiation techniques to ensure successful outcomes on transactions, proposals, and contracts.
  • Contribute towards R+D projects including scope of budget, project management, communications with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Follow up on new products and service provisions, including client support and contract management activities.
  • Conduct analysis through various assessment techniques e.g. Stability, Harmonic, Power/Short Load testing, Load Flow Studies.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
  • Degree / MSc. / PhD. qualified in Electrical Power Systems Engineering or similar Engineering principle.
  • Solid understanding of Power Systems: analytical techniques and bespoke software packages e.g. DIgSILENT, PSS/E, PSCAD.
  • Proven understanding of technical requirements within Power System Engineering, including equipment applications / grid stabilisation / network optimisation.
  • Willing to travel to attend customer meetings.
