Processs Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Operations Technician to support plant operations and sulfur recovery activities. This role involves close coordination with the Control Room Technician (CRT), other Operations Technicians, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and integrated execution of field activities. The ideal candidate will have strong operational knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with CRT and field teams to ensure clear understanding of job safety requirements, operational goals, and environmental standards.
• Support oversight of area activities, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
• Work closely with contractors to maintain a safe work environment.
• Participate in emergency response efforts within the assigned area.
• Assist in startup and commissioning activities with the Systems Completion team.
• Review work packages for planned maintenance, confirm isolation requirements, and ensure safe equipment preparation.
• Endorse Work Permits as Area Operator (AO) and, when required, as Isolating Authority (IA).
• Promote teamwork between Maintenance and Operations groups.
• Help prioritize work to enhance efficiency and support other teams.
• Maintain open communication with CRT and other areas to address issues and ensure follow-through.
• Keep the assigned area clean and organized.
• Maintain daily logs and shift handover notes.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and handling chemicals.
• Conduct minor equipment maintenance as needed.
• Make process adjustments to maintain product quality within standards.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in operations or a similar industrial role.
• Strong understanding of production processes and operations.
• Proficient in reading P&IDs, PFDs, UFDs, and shutdown logic diagrams.
• High commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in multicultural environments.
• Advanced knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.
• Familiarity with safety management tools (PTW, JSA, Risk Assessment, Step Back 5x5).
• Understanding of Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS) and Production Operations Best Practices (POBP).
