POSITION DESCRIPTION

The EPCM Pipeline Project Manager will lead planning, engineering, procurement, and construction management activities for a multi‑billion‑dollar mining development within specific constraints of time, budget, and scope. This role is responsible for managing project execution across all technical disciplines, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. They will serve as the central hub connecting stakeholders, team members, and leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic and remote project environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strategic oversight and lead cross‑functional EPCm teams to develop detailed project execution plans that outline scope, objectives, and resource needs to successfully deliver project milestones on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Assemble skilled teams, set clear roles and responsibilities, and establish the vision and expectations needed to meet challenging goals and objectives.
  • Streamline communications across groups and resolve conflicts that could impact project progress.
  • Manage engineering deliverables, including design basis development, constructability reviews, and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Oversee procurement planning, vendor selection, contract administration, and logistics coordination.
  • Direct construction management activities, ensuring safe execution and compliance with project standards.
  • Oversee and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, allocating resources efficiently and advocating for additional resources when necessary.
  • Identify and resolve project‑related issues, making critical decisions to mitigate risks and developing strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams in all areas of engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory compliance, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables comply with legal, environmental, and contractual obligations while remaining aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Act as primary liaison between contractors, stakeholders, and internal leadership, providing project progress updates and addressing concerns as they arise.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 20 years of large‑capital EPCm project management experience in pipelines, mining, or major infrastructure.
Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to direct and manage a large cross‑functional team, set goals and objectives, and align the team toward achieving those goals.
  • Proven experience managing large capital projects and interfacing with major EPCm contractors.
  • Knowledge of pipeline regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
  • Experience working in cold‑climate or remote logistics environments.
  • Familiarity with greenfield projects and seasonal constraints.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and lead across functional and project departments.
