Networking Senior Technician

Purpose of the Job:

1. Manage networking systems and projects across designated operational areas.
2. Ensure efficient implementation and maintenance of networking infrastructure to support optimal operational performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the installation, configuration, and maintenance of networking systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely deployment and integration of networking solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of network equipment to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and end-users on networking-related matters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that align with organizational requirements.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies in the networking industry, recommending innovations to improve efficiency and performance.
• Maintain detailed documentation and records of network systems, configurations, and maintenance activities.
• Participate in training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance skills in networking technologies.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networking systems.
• Proficiency in networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in networking systems maintenance and support, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead technician role.
• Hands-on experience with networking equipment, including Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and wireless controllers.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in network design and implementation.
• Experience working in industrial or plant environments is an advantage.
• Certification and experience with technologies such as Cisco and Fortinet, including FortiGate Firewalls, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
• Experience with Nozomi and Fortinet components is highly desirable.

• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work in challenging and dynamic environments.
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
