Role Purpose:

Network Engineer is the subject matter expert and contributor in enterprise and vessels network implementation, daily operation, maintenance and upgrade of network assets. This role will be assigned to FPSO projects during EPCI phases, to plan/purchase/setup vessels’ infrastructure, implementing network solutions and manage the vessel IT delivery package throughout project cycles.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Life Cycle:
    • Manage Life Cycle of All IT Network, Communication and any other IT Infrastructure Assets that is assigned to his/her responsibilities for Asia Pacific regions.
  • Vessel Projects:
    • Perform Vessel IT Setup for EPCI Projects including Project management: Designing Vessel IT Network configuration, setup, documenting and enforcing MODEC IT networking standards and managing end to end Vessel IT setup Project
  • Corporate Projects:
    • Upgrade Network Equipment, harden network systems by applying latest stable firmware releases. Support local Client and MODEC site offices in Singapore time zone to improve response time to internal and external customers.
  • Cyber Security Support:
    • Coordinate with global cyber security team for cyber security projects, issues specifically related to corporate network security.
  • Phone and Video Conference System:
    • Administrate, Configure, support and provide training on Phone and VC equipment.
Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
  • 3 years’ experience in designing Network architecture and implementing Networks.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, building and administering IT Network Systems, including exposure to CISCO Call Manager and IP telephony for a midsize or large company, preferably in Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Technical certification such as CISCO (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE) would be a plus.
Technical Competencies:
  • Advantage for candidate with good knowledge or hands on experience in network security or supporting cyber security activity.
  • Good working knowledge of L1, L2, L3, L4 methodologies.
  • Proficient in DHCP, DNS, ARP, NTP, EIGRP, MPLS, BGP, WAN, HSRP, GRE, DMVPN, VLAN, STP, ETHERCHANNEL, CDP, SNMP, LACP, Riverbed, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco Smartnet, and Cisco Smart Licensing.
  • Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and AWS experience is a plus
  • Good project management skills with at least a few cycles of end-to-end project involvement.
  • The ability to work in a global team environment with strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills is a must.
  • Ability to work as individual contributor with minimum supervision
  • Ability to effectively self-plan, manage, prioritize and execute tasks under low clarity situation.
  • Outside field work and working at heights are required, as the shipyard installations must also be supervised and executed.
  • Due to the global presence of stakeholders, it is necessary to attend meetings at irregular times.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
