Mechanical Equipment Engineer   

As a Package Engineer, you will have the technical responsibility for all aspects related to the selection, design, procurement, and manufacturing of packaged process (and marine) equipment. This includes ensuring that the equipment is functional, meets all requirements, integrates seamlessly with other systems, and complies with both internal and external standards. 

The Mechanical Static and/or Rotating Equipment Engineer role requires expertise in the design and management of static equipment, complex process packages (e.g., chemical injection, gas dehydration, water treatment), utilities equipment, lifting and handling equipment, as well as general mechanical equipment, excluding rotating equipment categories. 

Additional expertise in Offshore Pedestal Cranes, Cargo Offloading Systems (hose and hawser reels), and Mechanical Handling across the FPSO/offshore unit is highly valued and considered an excellent foundation for a specialized package engineer. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare specifications, perform technical clarifications and evaluations, and liaise with the purchasing department. 

  • Act as an intermediary between equipment suppliers and internal engineering disciplines. 

  • Coordinate the integration of purchased equipment into the overall offshore installation. 

  • Review vendor drawings and calculations, participate in safety studies, and manage changes (Management of Change, MOC). 

  • Conduct final inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with design and safety standards. 

The project team and related discipline engineers may be based in different execution centers, requiring a collaborative approach to ensure smooth project execution. 

 

Candidate Profile 

Our ideal candidate for the role of Mechanical Static and Rotating Equipment / Package Engineer has: 

  • At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within the (Offshore) Oil & Gas Industry, either in a comparable role or as an engineer (e.g., project engineer, system engineer, or lead engineer) at a relevant equipment supplier. 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred). 

Additional Skills 

  • Strong team player with the ability to take initiative. 

  • Problem-solving and creative thinking skills. 

  • Professional communication skills in English (verbal and written). 

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
