Job Title: Materials Coordinator
Location: Fort St. John, BC –only locals or candidates willing to relocate at own expense will be considered for this position
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 1 year

Accountabilities
The Materials Coordinator has an integral role on the Supply Chain Operations & Maintenance team. This role is responsible for ensuring effective materials management at our Fort St. John location and interfaces with our field and Calgary based teams to ensure the effective coordination of materials.
Areas of Responsibility
  • Shipping, receiving and handling of materials and equipment.
  • Manage logistical requirements for freight consolidation and distribution to remote locations.
  • Provide updates for material status and open purchase orders, including expediting, tracking and returns.
  • Coordinates scheduling for orders based on material lead times and arrival dates.
  • Provides status updates and follow-up to internal client groups.
  • Engage with local supplier base for material orders and shipments.
  • Support material order expediting with supplier and buying teams.
  • Maintains integrity and accuracy of the physical inventory by location.
  • Responsible for year-end physical inventory counts as well as daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts.
  • Material staging in accordance with schedule demand and logistical requirements.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain Buyers & Operations personnel to prepare, execute and follow material orders and deliveries.
  • Physically capable of lifting materials and product up to 50 pounds.
  • Support Operations staff in the Fort St. John office with miscellaneous tasks as required.
  • High focus on safety performance and compliance with company/industry policies and standards.


Required Skills / Competencies
  • Inventory management skills/history with ERP software (SAP preferable).
  • 5-7 years of experience in Upstream Canadian Exploration and Production Operations.
  • Trained and certified in operating standard forklifts.
  • Effective time management & strong organizational skills.
  • Enhanced software application skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, GEP, and SAP).
  • Able to apply knowledge and experience to complex problems and develop recommendations.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build & maintain effective, trusting relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
