NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with a major operating company who are looking to add a Lead ICSS Engineer to join their team in Nanterre, France.

The role will be a contract based role with a 36 Month duration and offers the opportunity to work on a large LNG project in the middle east. This role holds the potential to mobilise to Qatar (onshore) by the 3rd quarter of 2025, according to the projects development. 

  • Ensure ICSS engineering activities are conducted in accordance with project specifications and approved variations if any. Accountable for a quality design of ICSS engineering deliverables, including design safety aspects and execution planning

  • Leads ICSS engineering support activities for the Pre-FEED and FEED scope.  Provides leadership, coaching and guidance to the Pre-FEED/FEED contractor and sub-contractors to make them successful in delivering project civil/structural/buildings scope

  • Applies sound engineering judgement to address technical issues as they arise during construction and commissioning execution.

  • Demonstrates visible safety program leadership.

  • Ensures Contractor and Sub-contractors have adequate plans and work schedules (short term and long term)

  • Monitor closely the discipline progress, detect any risks to the discipline scope, define all actions and manage them to secure the design completion.

  • Assist in preparation as requested and attend to project studies including HAZOP, SIL.

  • Ensure project documents related to the ICSS discipline are reviewed and commented in a timely manner and in accordance with project specification and contractual requirements.

  • Ensure as far as possible standardization with asset and ongoing projects.

  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines.

  • Works side by side with quality organization to address systematic quality issues for civil/structural/building scope

  • Participate in weekly and monthly engineering meetings with Contractors

  • Maintain design integrity and quality requirements through the management of change, specification deviation, Technical Query and field design change processes.

  • Engages resources outside the PMT on a timely basis to resolve key engineering issues beyond experience

  • Conduct site surveys to validate field conditions in relation to queries or validation of completed works, including witnessing of field executed testing

Minimum Requirements 



Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineeringin Industrial Control or equivalent

Knowledge and/or Experience


  • 10 years’ experience working in ICSS including detailed design and field engineering construction/commissioning phases

  • Experience in Oil & Gas Facilities, especially LNG facilities and or large ICSS scope

  • Experience with EPC Contractors in Europe and Middle east

  • Experience in greenfield and Brownfields projects

  • Technical expertise in control systems (ESD, FGS , DCS..)

  • Instrumentation Knowledge to interface ICSS.

  •  Technical expertise in UCP vendor package control & systems

  •  Deep knowledge in control narratives / FDS / typicals for control systems

  • Deep knowledge of package & ICSS interface signals

  • Experience to interface with Cybersecurity team

  • FEED experience is required.

  • Excellent written English and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Experience working in multicultural environments.

  • Fluent with common software applications including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc.
