Job Title:  ITC Datacentre Technical Lead
Location: Basra, Iraq
Rotation: 28/28 
% Travel: 50%

Role Synopsis:
The FDI Datacentre Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing maintenance & operation of the Primary Data Centre & 6 Containerised Data Centres.
The FDI Datacentre Technical Lead is also responsible for delivering field digital infrastructure projects, major improvements and upgrades are planned to the field digital infrastructure over the next 5+ years including:
1) Large Scale Fibre Optic Deployment
2) Relocation of Primary Data Centre
3) Replace Cooling Systems for 7 Containerised Data Centres

The role requires an individual with excellent organisation skills who can provide leadership and is able to manage and deliver multiple activities with a deep understanding of Telecoms services and technologies.


Key Accountabilities:

FDI Datacentre Technical Lead responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing maintenance & operation of Primary Data Centre & 6Containerised Data Centres, ensuring critical systems are fit for purpose at all times
  • Responsible for support and Integrity of Telecoms Towers and Masts
  • Developing 5 Year Roadmap for Field Digital Infrastructure Team
  • Preparing Request for Proposal Documents and Evaluating Bid Responses
  • Vendor Management
  • Asset Management
  • Training & Development of Engineers / Technicians with a view  to nationalisation
  • Subject Matter Expert for Upcoming Fibre Optic Project

Criteria & Qualifications:
Essential
  • Data Centre Management to include technical knowledge ofelectrical distribution and emergency / standby power systems,HVAC Systems, fire detection / suppression and monitoring /control systems
  • Experience of large-scale fibre optic deployments
  • Experience writing RFP Documents and managing Vendor Bidding Process
  • Experience managing & leading technical engineering staff.
  • Proven ability and drive to co-ordinate multiple activities.
  • Good inter personal skills.
  • Experience in Oil and Gas Industry
  • English written & oral.
  • Willing to work rotation 28 days on 28 days off
  • Ability to work within a multicultural environment
  • Minimum five years experience in a similar role
  • University degree Level qualified.
  • Certificates in Data Center specialization is a must
