Requisition Title:   Contract Industrial Hygienist
Term: Present to December 20, 2024, with potential for extension to Mar 31, 2025.
Location: Calgary

Department:  Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health
Job Description: As part of the IH team the Industrial Hygienist provides an integral contribution to the development, maintenance, and monitoring of Industrial Hygiene programs within our clients operations and business units primarily in Canada. This role contributes to the programs and processes that prevent workplace illnesses and provide protection for employees from workplace industrial hygiene risks and hazards. This role provides an important link to the implementation of industrial hygiene surveillance activities in support of the continuous improvement of health and safety programs, policies, and management systems. 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative workplace exposure assessments.
  • Respond to requests for IH activities or support.
  • Compile and communicate assessment reports.
  • Complete required data entry into the Cenovus IH database (Open Range CTS).
  • Support the requirements of the Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System (COIMS).
  • Interpret and apply related jurisdictional regulations and requirements.
  • Travel to Cenovus field locations.
Job Qualifications:
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) designation.
  • Related professional experience in oil and gas or other industrial setting
  • Experience reporting and communicating technical information to workers, management, and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in remote oil and gas production operating environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in exposure assessment methodologies and control processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation in western Canada
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, specifically Microsoft Office; familiarity with IH data systems
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Solid presentation/training skills and experience.
  • Work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
