We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead/manage our growing gas operations in the Ortoire Block. Reporting to the Senior Facility & Gas Operations Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the Company’s gas facilities as well as the supervision of a team of Ortoire Operations Team. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead a team of plant supervisors/operators, engineers and manage operational activities at gas processing facilities
  • Coordinate shut-downs, start-ups and troubleshooting activities with operations personnel 
  • Oversee and approve contracts and providers for facility services
  • Manage facility vendors/contractors to ensure contract requirements are met and they are complying with contractual obligations
  • Monitor and evaluate production data to ensure accuracy and ensure same meets purchaser contractual specifications 
  • Oversee facilities to ensure that maintenance and operation practices are applied across the operation
  • Ensure reports are submitted such as blow down reports, spill reports, flare reports and other operational data 
  • Take active role in process improvement measures and related activities
  • Utilize management skills to implement action plans for achieving objectives and oversight of daily operations
  • Participate in the development of standard operating procedures and risk assessments and ensure full compliance to procedures  
  • Participate in the Plant Process Safety Management (PSM) program
  • Ensure all activities fully comply with the Safety Management System
  • Select, coach, and develop facility operations personnel
  • Work with the Head office in setting production targets and helping operations staff achieve and set goals 
  • Review and evaluate facility personnel performance and prepare annual reviews

  • KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Twelve + years of oilfield gas operations experience
  • MSC. In Engineering & Maintenance 
  • BSC in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent field 
  • Experience in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) is a must
  • Ability to estimate and schedule project/operational budgets
  • Construction knowledge of onshore gas processing facilities an asset
  • Ability to work with asset management software scheduling maintenance and turnaround activities
  • Great working knowledge of gas separation 
  • Understanding of gas sale agreements and gas metering 
  • Great working knowledge of rotating equipment (generators, compressors, etc.)
  • Ability to read, use and understand PFD’s, P&ID’s and Plot Plans
  • Ability to help troubleshoot process problems as they occur
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) understanding/training is an asset
  • Knowledge of Trinidad environmental and regulatory policies
  • Previous experience working with Certified Verification Agencies is an asset
  • Operational experience in gas transmission and distribution pipelines
  • Manage and report operational expenditures
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined
  • Strong pre-commissioning and commissioning experience
  • Self-Starter with the ability to make decisions & Team Player 
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Hands on Instrumentation knowledge is an asset
  • Experience in managing diverse teams
