Estimating & Production Engineer – Staff Position

The Estimating & Production Engineer role will be integrated into the Estimating department with the purpose of bidding on small and large fabrications and pipework and pressure vessels, predominantly for the Oil & Gas Industry.

This role covers a wide variety of fabrication work consisting of jobs for offshore platforms, FPSOs, drilling rigs, subsea tooling and onshore jobs.

Job Location:
Primarily based within the Company’s main office in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire

Responsibilities and Duties:
Duties include but may not be restricted to:
• Pricing and costing of jobs based on labour, material and time requirements.
• Liaising with clients.
• Adherence to Company QA System.
• Estimating and producing quotations to customer requirements.
• Sourcing of material & equipment costs.
• Taking ownership of jobs to see the production process through to delivery, including maintaining strong client relations throughout.
• Providing information on current/upcoming jobs by attending a weekly production meeting, in   to liaising with various departments daily.
• Pricing/costing of project works.
• Ensure you work safely and you are not endangering yourself, those around you or the environment.
• Ensuring client requirements are met.

Organisational Location:
Integrated within the Estimating team and follow the existing procedures and processes of the Estimating department.

Line Manager:
Fabrication Shop Operations Manager

Proposed Interactions:
• Reporting directly to Line Manager.
• Interact directly with other managers and employees in various workshop departments and offices

Qualifications Essential
• Estimating experience in a busy environment.
• A background in the steel trade would be advantageous.

Skills The Estimating & Production Engineer should be:
• Familiar with weld procedure and specification requirements.
• Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
• Familiar with working to ISO Accreditations.
• A meticulous approach to engineering and attention to detail
• Developed numeracy and computer literacy skills
