Our client is currently seeking an Environmental Advisor for an initial 12-month contract with potential to extend. This will be a Perth based position.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Be an active member of the HSE Project Team during Project Development and support the development of the environmental elements of the HSE Integrated Management System to ensure that the goals of the Project are achieved;
  • Provide support in the development of relevant environmental studies and monitoring programs required to support Company/Project activities.
  • Support the implementation of the stakeholder consultation plan and maintain relevant databases; and
  • Support the implementation of internal/external Company & regulatory environmental reporting requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of environmental regulatory and permitting requirements across Project Development and:
  • Support the preparation, maintenance and verification of environmental approvals, including environmental impact statements, EPBC referrals, environment plans and oil spill contingency plans.
  • Advise on and verify compliance with relevant applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage, support and/or participate in Environmental risk and impact. assessments and studies for all phases of works (including ENVIDs, EIAs, etc.) and the preparation of associated reports; and
  • Liaise with government departments and Regulators to facilitate environmental approvals.
  • Support preparation for project execution and:
  • Support to procurement processes to ensure environmental compliance, including preparation and evaluation of dedicated HSE tenders.
  • Prepare and delivery of training material or inductions; and
  • Support and/or participate in management and Environmental related Audits, Reviews, Inspections and Investigations;
  • As part of the HSE Department, general duties include:
  • Participate in Oil Spill Response activities.
  • Participate in the Incident Management Team roster; and
  • Any other agreed activity as directed by the HSEQ Manager.
Main Interfaces:

Internal:
  • Reports directly to the HSEQ Manager (Functionally to the Project Interface Manager)
  • Interfaces with and between various departments and various department team members involved in the Client’s Project.
External: 
  • Regulators and stakeholders for environmental approvals and reporting project obligations (HSE, GHG emissions).
  • Local authorities, certification bodies, contractors and suppliers.
  • Local communities and interest groups.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering/Science
  • 5+ yrs experience in similar role, with extensive experience in Environmental management within the Oil and Gas industry
  • Proven experience in preparation, maintenance and implementation of Environment Plans
  • Proven experience in managing Environmental approvals and environmental monitoring
