Key responsibilities:
• Optimisation of sub-system performance, working with the Systems team to design for lowest levelised cost of capture.
• Encourage innovation within the team and ensure intellectual property is appropriately protected.
• Work with the performance engineers to develop models of the sub-system, and work with the systems team to ensure integration into the system models.
• Develop the mechanical and electrical design of the sub-system.
• Understand and manage risks, failure modes and other engineering challenges within the system.
• Work with systems team and deployment team to ensure an overall lifecycle lowest cost of CO2 capture, and to develop methods of plant construction.
• Ownership of the sub-system core bill of materials, working with the team responsible for deployment to ensure a supply chain which is capable of rapid scale-up and cost reduction.
• Work with the deployment team and the external supply chain to ensure industrial design is suitable for rapid deployment, low cost, and to achieve planning permission.
• Management of technology suppliers contributing to the sub-system, including development and test.
