Engineer - Marine - Analyses and Calculations

 
 
As Aker Solutions’ global recruitment partner NES Advantage is now looking for: Engineer - Marine - Analyses and Calculations with experience in onshore or offshore projects.
 
This position is led from Stord and is not a rotation
 
Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.
 
What will you be doing?

• Prepare the marine basis for projects, ensuring quality and punctuality based on established plans, procedures, and routines.
• Establish, update, and maintain marine work and sequences.
• Prepare marine documents and implement construction and HSSE-friendly designs.
• Keep the marine basis current by implementing new designs, revisions, DCNs, and fabrication deviations.
• Conduct design verification and clarify unclear details and requirements.
• Verify engineering and vendor documentation, providing feedback to suppliers on information gaps and discrepancies.
• Prioritize HSSE in all execution of work.

 
Qualifications we think you should have:

• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of structural analysis, hydrostatic stability, and hydrodynamics.
• Solid knowledge of marine operations and cross-discipline collaboration.
• Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with software tools like Staad-Pro, Sesam, StruProg, Mathcad, 3D/2D CAD systems, MIPS, and planning systems.
• Familiarity with PEM.
• Higher university degree.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to perform structural analysis, with a preference for experience using Sesam Genie.
