Electrical Field Engineer 

•    Start Date: December 2024 
•    Duration: 12 months (potential of being renewed for 12 months further) 
•    Location: UAE 
•    Status: Residential (it will be based in UAE-ABU DHABI with missions in Iraq (expected days per year 115 days)

MISSIONS / JOB DIMENSIONS
The job holder is responsible, within the client team and under the Early Work Package Leader and report to Construction Manager during the Early Works execution phase, for coordination, validation of resources, monitoring, supervising the overall construction activities within assigned area as carried out by the EPC Contractor (and Subcontractors) at the worksite.

The job holder ensures that all HSSE, Quality and Technical contractual requirements are duly applied by EPC Contractor and all Subcontractors on the construction site.

The job holder will be required to:
- Be fully conversant with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards applicable to the Project.
- Review design / construction documents at site and be fully familiar with all scope of work related to his / her discipline.
- Responsible to make site decisions where required to enable the project to move forward.
- Responsible to keep good communication with discipline Electrical engineer.
- Attend regular site query engineering meetings.
- Review / endorse discipline raised site queries / deviations.
- Inspecting construction sites frequently and ensuring that there are no outstanding site issues that have not been raised related to his / her discipline.
- Provide technical assistance during construction to resolve any technical issues arising related to Electrical installations.
- Responsible to ensure the EPC contractor implements the Electrical scope are per project requirements.
- Provide expertise to site team to avoid/resolve site engineering problems.
- Ensure the Electrical scope of work and technical drawings is being implemented and that all work is in conformity to standards and specifications.
- Prepare and provide daily field engineering updates to management team.
- Will not hesitate to issue ‘STOP WORK’ when witness potential hazard or risk that could cause harm to themselves, their co-workers, the environment, or the equipment.
- As and when requested / required, conduct regular inspections checks to ensure electrical installations meet the required standards.
- Participate and witness performance tests on powerlines, cables, etc, as well as other equipment used for the transmission of electrical power etc.
- When requested, review and endorse red line mark-up drawings.
The job holder is also accountable for demonstrating, individually, an exemplary behaviour with regards to HSE, ethics and “code of conduct”.

ACTIVITIES
In particular, among his/her activities, the job holder is required to:
- Participate to KOM with Contractor/Subcontractor(s) with respect to Discipline matters.
- Attend daily site briefing (TBT).
- Maintain good relationships with EPC Contractor field discipline engineering team but being strict to achieve the project objectives.
- Participate to all required Construction / Site meetings with EPC Contractor/Subcontractors.
- Stop the work when necessary & report immediately to Contractor any anomaly, violation & unsafe practice.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The job holder must have:
Has 10 + years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industry in an appropriate discipline.

Roles and responsibilities to have
included:
- Experience in multi-Construction projects in several different countries of E&I oil and gas project Installations.
- Mandatory experience in a similar position: 10+ Years
- Experience in understanding project engineering drawings.
- Experience in project specifications.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Experienced in HSE overall project requirements.
- Language: English as mother tongue or Fluent in English (speaking and writing), French and/or Arabic language is a plus.
