Basic Purpose/Accountabilities
The SCM Contract Specialist (CS) is an integral role elevating our requirement for commercial expertise with external suppliers and contractors and developing and maintaining support with internal Business partners.

Overall Areas of Responsibility
• Responsible for supply chain tasks in SMART by GEP with opportunity to become teams subject matter expert in SMART.
• Tasks include issuing purchase orders & loading contracts into SMART and drafting contract amendments.
• Responsible for supply chain tasks in SAP to update supplier outline agreements and purchase orders (PO), including PO reconciliation and close-outs.
• Provide support for new vendor requests and changes to vendor payment terms (i.e., paper invoicing to electronic invoicing) with interfaces with supply chain, the wells business function, and vendors.
• Responsible to manage supply chain’s wells inbox for new business requests. This includes coordination with senior sourcing & contracting specialists to ensure activities are completed in a timely fashion.
• Category management for select wells categories, which includes strategic supply chain activities from formation to contract closeout.
• Build and refine process for management of yearly framework orders in SAP.
• Build internal stakeholder relationships to understand their SCM requirements and build fit for purpose strategies.
• Provide enhanced metrics and reporting capabilities for ensuring contracting and support implementations are tracked and measured for success and continuous improvement with suppliers.
• Ensure accurate reporting for wells team on key supply chain goals (i.e., cost savings, rate validation, supplier key performance indicators and supplier price lists for the business).
• Ensure initiatives comply with Policies and Procedures.

Required Skills/Competencies
• Minimum college diploma in Business Administration or Supply Chain disciplines.
• Minimum 5-10 years of Supply Chain/Contracting experience preferably oil and gas industry.
• Enhanced software application skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP).
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of contracting activities from formation to closeout.
• Effective time management & strong organizational skills.
• Keen attention to detail & adherence to quality work.
• Experience with electronic contracting software (i.e., SMART by GEP).
• Effective interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build & maintain effective, trusting relationships with internal stakeholders. Strong influence, facilitation & networking ability.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications
• Participation in IACCM (International Association Contract and Commercial Management) and/or SCMA (Supply Chain Management Association of Alberta) is an asset.
• Knowledge of Wells Categories.
• Experience in SMART by GEP.
• Knowledge of Upstream Canadian exploration and Production operations.
