Contracts Engineer 

 

About the Job 

As a Contracts Engineer, you are part of the contracts team and responsible for managing and administrating all main contract activities on projects. You work closely with the project team and other departments and interfaces as required. Furthermore, as a Contracts Engineer, you are responsible for: 

  • Managing and administrating all related subcontracting activities on various projects in a timely, quality-focused, and budget-driven way in accordance with the Company Management System (CMS). 

  • Contributing to subcontracting strategies. 

  • Preparing subcontracting strategies in line with the project objectives. 

  • Acting as the Lead Contracts Engineer on projects. 

  • Preparing invitations to tender, evaluating tender proposals, and overseeing the final contract award and subsequent contract administration through to close-out. 

  • Evaluating and negotiating commercial and contractual matters and coordinating technical evaluations of received tenders. 

  • Organizing and leading tender clarification meetings, tender board meetings, kick-off meetings, and commercial discussions.

Requirements 

We are seeking a strong Contracts Engineer with excellent work ethics, a professional level of attention to detail, and demonstrable commercial awareness. You should have: 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Legal, Commerce, Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent. 

  • At least 3 years of experience in a contracting environment within the construction, engineering, or oil & gas industries, preferably with international exposure. 

  • Experience managing a team of contractors (preferred). 

  • Proven expertise in major re-measurable and lump-sum EPC(IC) contracts. 

  • A proactive approach to the role, with the ability to consistently demonstrate added value. 

  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written. 

  • Willingness to travel for short-term overseas business trips and longer-term assignments.
