The Contract Specialist provides direct support to the Corporate Security Specialist for the physical security protection of AmSty people/assets and compliance across all AmSty sites.  This position provides expertise, in the deployment of AmSty physical security standards, processes, security projects, relative to physical security, and compliance assurance with applicable security U.S. laws and regulations.  This is a contractor position that will report to the Corporate Security Specialist (CSS) within the AmSty Functional EH&S organization and will be located at the AmSty St. James Plant.
Primary Responsibilities:
    • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for physical security programs, including SME for U.S. security compliance programs (e.g., U.S. Coast Guard Marine Transportation Security Act, DOT Security requirements, etc.)
    • Assist the CSS with the development and rollout of the ACC Security Code of Practice and support achieving/sustaining RC14001®:2015 certification.
    • Provides training for physical security electronic access systems.
    • Develops and delivers company-wide security training, as needed.
    • Interacts regularly with AmSty plants and corporate organizations as it relates to company security compliance matters.
    • Interact with AmSty’s IT organization and third-party vendors that overlap with physical security access control and threat protection.
    • Develops and maintains physical security standards and procedures.
    • Identifies and anticipates areas of security risk, provides input for security strategy and guidance to the CSS to mitigate or reduce security risks.
    • Role will periodically liaison with other AmSty functions for emergency preparedness and response as related to physical security issues.
    • Provides SME support for the St. James Plant security program, including:
    • -   Maintains St. James Facility Security Plan and other associated security documentation.
    • -   Acts as St. James Alternate Facility Security Officer in accordance with 33 CFR 105 Maritime Transportation Security Act when the CSS-FSO is not available.
    • Coordinates inspections, drills, training, etc. for the St. James Plant Facility in accordance with AmSty requirements and U.S. Coast Guard regulations.  
    • Works other security-related improvement projects at the direction of the CSS. 

Job Requirements:
    • Previous work experience managing refinery or chemical plant security programs, security plans and security procedures and contract security personnel.
    • Knowledgeable in U.S. Coast Guard Marine Transportation Safety Act (MTSA) and U.S. DOT Security requirements.
    • Have a current or be capable of immediately obtaining a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
    • Must be able to periodically travel (15%) within the U.S. and Colombia.
Desired:
    • Work experience in a refinery contract security SME role considered a plus.
    • College Associate degree considered a plus.
    • Knowledge of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) considered a plus.
    • Experience working for security-related organizations (e.g., agencies, law enforcement, U.S. Military Logistics, Military Transportation etc.) considered a plus.
    • Experience managing Contract security personnel in petrochemical/chemical plant environment considered a plus. 

Relocation is not available with this position.
