Our client, leading the global energy transition, currently requires a Construction Manager to join their team in Oslo.
The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and technical expertise in construction processes.

Key Responsibilities

Key Position Specific Responsibilities:

1.         Project Planning and Execution:
•           Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the project team. The Construction Manager will lead the construction department in the execution of the project.
•           Coordinate and manage all onshore construction activities, including resource allocation, material procurement, and subcontractor management.
•           Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to established timelines and quality standards.

2.         Safety and Compliance:
•           Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
•           Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing construction activities.
•           Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards or risks.


3.         Team Leadership and Management:
•           Lead, motivate, and manage onshore construction teams to achieve project objectives.
•           Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
•           Resolve conflicts and address performance issues in a timely and effective manner.

4.         Stakeholder Communication:
•           Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
•           Communicate project status updates, milestones, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
•           Facilitate meetings and discussions to ensure alignment and consensus among project stakeholders.



Person Specification
Experience    •           Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
•           Ideally have Norwegian language skills.
•           Proven experience in onshore construction management in Norway and civil construction, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
•           Proven background working in a high-risk environment.
•           Minimum 5 years experience executing projects in Norway.
•           Background working for large construction projects.
•           Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
•           Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and build relationships with stakeholders.
•           Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
•           Certification in construction management or related field (e.g., PMP, CMIT) is desirable.
•           Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
