About the Role
NES Fircroft is partnered with a world leader in mining who is seeking an experienced Communications Technician for an initial 6 – 12-month contract based on site in the Hunter Valley.
We are looking for a qualified technician to safely and effectively perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks by working within a team and promoting site safety standards and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained.
Reporting to the Communications Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and exceptional communication skills. The roster for this role is 7 on 7 off day Shift only.

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain radio communication networks.
- Install and maintain fleet management technologies.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, implementing preventive measures and generating condition reports.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize VHF infrastructure.
- Proven hands-on experience with power and hand tools, with a strong ability to scope, implement, and troubleshoot a variety of operational technologies.
- Trade certification or a Certificate III in communications, electrical, auto-electrical, instrumentation & control, radio, or electronics.
- At least 3 years of experience in mining systems, industrial control systems, electrical, instrumentation, electronics, or communications.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking.
