A global energy and resources group with operations across Australia and internationally is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable / Payments professional to support its Australian affiliate. Based in the Melbourne CBD, this role sits within an SOX-controlled environment and works closely with an offshore Shared Service Centre, supporting major LNG joint venture interests.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payment runs and expense claims, as well as managing vendor data and resolving payment queries. This is a part-time position working Tuesday to Thursday, with strong potential to transition to a permanent role as the workload continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and urgent payment batches for cash settlement
  • Review, verify, and ensure timely approval of invoices in line with delegation of authority
  • Work closely with an offshore Shared Service Centre to process invoices and payments
  • Resolve payment validation issues and respond to supplier and internal payment queries
  • Maintain and update vendor master data within SAP ERP systems
  • Final review and submission of employee expense claims
  • Manage affiliate invoice submission inboxes and resolve related issues
  • Support internal and external audit requirements as required
About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or payments roles, ideally within a multinational or shared-services environment
  • Strong SAP ECC6 capability and advanced Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, controls, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with offshore service centres
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Clear communication skills and confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently
