The Challenge
The client operates the largest solar project in Australia (Uralla, New South Wales), and due to its volume, the client was struggling to obtain a consistent supply chain to operate the site effectively.
- The client does not have an internal talent acquisition team and in the past had used a variety of recruitment agencies with mixed results. The technical nature of their work means that the eligible candidate pool is quite niche.
- Candidate attraction had also proven to be difficult owing to their remote project locations.
- Due to the highly competitive nature of the Renewable Energy market, the client had often failed to secure candidates as they were opting to work on other projects instead, or for more city-based roles.

Account Management
We appointed an account manager to deliver the scope of work, conducting an in-depth search across our existing talent networks and used our broad LinkedIn reach and Seek platform to further extend the reach of the vacancies on offer.
Transparency & Employer Brand
To overcome the challenges to candidate attraction previously experienced by the client, we were sure to really convey the positives of the employer brand, not only referencing the strength of having this project on their CV, but also going into great detail regarding their living allowances and rosters. This enabled candidates to obtain a realistic understanding of their working environment.
Candidate Profiling
The roles were permanent, and the client had expressed concern about the longevity of their teams. We conducted extensive personality testing to establish that prospective engineers used to working on Australian projects could work in harmony in a project with a European culture and mindset.
